"The Cursed Odyssey is an amazing novel by Frederick Martinus. I obviously recommend the book to everyone, especially those who are a big fan of epic fantasy or like to travel a lot. The quality of the writing, the wonderful messages each chapter is trying to convey, and unique world building that combines the concept of past mythological creatures and the future world are extraordinary. I never heard about Pinisi yacht and its construction in the UK before, like how and why it is made like that now make sense to me. What is more, this novel has plenty of entertainment values, like you get to know some awesome local songs and foods in different languages. "The storytelling is really great, and I believe this novel can be adapted into movie soon. What makes The Cursed Odyssey different is that the story will keep you enamored with picturesque isles and well-preserved Monument of the Equators, which left me awestruck. I also like the fact that The Cursed Odyssey does not undermine the supporting roles. The author cleverly uses songs to put them at the focal point as the main ones, so I applaud him for that. Last but not least, I admire his balanced use of diction. At times it can be literary, but other times it can be scholarly. Like the way he uses "tempest" and "slake" instead of "storm" and "quench", then the way he uses certain terminology, like allepa (paint bucket), sawi(workers), and many more. Overall, this is a novel that leaves an emotional impact and a matter of conscience on my mind.
